In invitation of Brigitte Zypries, federal minister of economics and energy, the official kick-off event was hold in Berlin in January 2018, starting the Renewable Energy For Africa (REFA) GmbH & Co. KG.

A group of North German mid-sized entrepreneurs filed the target to stabilize the energy supply in Africa by extending renewable energies and contribute to an African economic growth.

The entrepreneurs take advantage from their long-standing experience in the German energy transition they have been co-shaping as pioneers. They are now ready to accept the challenge and global responsibility to develop strategies for renewable energies and their value-added chains in African countries.
